Great location only 5 minutes walk from the Cathedral, Mercado dos Lavradores, the seafront and other central locations. Also less than 5 minutes from an Aerobus bus stop in both directions. Current bus price in March 2025 is €6.40. Rooms are ok, mine had 3 single beds and a balcony but no aircon so not sure how hot the rooms would be in high summer. It was fine for me. Not sure if that applies to all the rooms. There is a large terrace on the first floor which gets sun all morning. Breakfast is self service with just a light buffet. Downside is that the WiFi is only available on the first floor. Also no on site parking if you have a hire car. Staff were friendly.
Interesting hotel, definitely not a really fancy place, but it has it's charm. The design reminds of 70's, I really enjoyed this, because hotels usually are really similar. The room was nice and clean, the private bathroom was okay- hot water and some soap. Hair dryer looked weird, but I didn't try it, probabbly worked fine. Continental breakfast was good, not really variable, but tasty and coffee was good. Of corse a bit loud in the night, because it is in the centre of Funchal. To summarize- everything was good and I would recommend this place.
